Join us on Thurs, March 19th from 6:30-8pm to transform a reused or vintage container into a soy wax candle in an interactive candle-making class. The class, led by Chicago candle-maker Jessica Snively, creator of Milton and Margie’s Soy Wax Candles, provides all the supplies and teaches you everything you need to know.
Throughout the process, you’ll create your own signature fragrance from a blend of scented soy-based oils. Jess will supply a bunch of eclectic oils with options from floral (e.g., Lavender and Juniper) to natural (e.g., Cedar and Eucalyptus) and sweet (e.g., Buttercream and Fudge Brownie) to rugged (e.g., Leather). Feel free to bring a container or two of your own to fill with wax (maybe hit up a thrift shop before the class), or select from Jess' collection at the workshop.
What to bring (optional): Bring one or two vessels (mug, teacup, tin can) to fill with wax or choose a vintage piece from Jess' collection.
Ticket includes: 16oz of soy wax (enough for 1-2 candles depending on container size) Fragrance oils to concoct your own custom blend Guidance from Jess on scent mixing and candlemaking Batch cocktails to get the creativity flowing 10% off any purchases at Neighborly the day of the workshop
