House Guest: Ryan Kapp

House Guest: Ryan Kapp

Hey neighbors! Help Neighborly welcome our second House Guest, Chicago-based painter and screen printer Ryan Kapp.

Stop by this Saturday, August 3rd from 2-6pm to:
see Ryan’s paintings and prints showcased in the shop
> meet Ryan and chat with him about art, skateboarding or Star Wars
> make your own (free!) screen print to take home
> shop his goods with a portion of the afternoon’s proceeds donated to Ryan’s non-profit of choice, Purple Asparagus
> enjoy the deliciousness of flavored shaved ice from the Gourmet Snowball truck!

Ryan hails from Ohio but moved to Chicago in 2000 to attend grad school at Northwestern University and has called the Windy City home since then. In his body of work compiled over the last 10 years, Ryan draws upon imagery from his native midwest surroundings and his travels and mixes it with a graphic sensibility. His prints and paintings explore ideas of reduction and stylistic scale that work together to create environments driven by mood.

Ryan’s “Four Seasons” Chicago skyline print series is one of the most popular pieces of artwork displayed at Neighborly. Learn more about Ryan and check out his work at ryankapp.com.
