Wicker Park Senior Retail Associate
Neighborly seeks to hire a senior retail associate for its Wicker Park location in our brick and mortar retail shop. The job candidate must be up to the challenge of providing exceptional customer service and assisting in managing a small team of retail associates, while completing the day-to-day tasks required to maintain a retail shop.
This is a 30-40 hr/week, paid hourly position. This position will (always) require evening and Friday and Saturday hours as these are our busiest times in retail. If 40 hrs/wk is desired, Sundays will also be required.
Demonstrated past experience in a retail environment is a must. The majority of this role's responsibility is to provide customer service to the shop's visitors and is a good fit for someone ready to take on the next step from a sales associate role. Persons that thrive in a small business working environment and have the confidence and initiative to be a good leader are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an upbeat attitude when providing customer service, feel comfortable wearing many hats, be a quick learner, be very organized and pay close attention to detail. They must have an eye for well-designed and quality-made products and be current with home color and style trends.
This position will be a direct assistant to the business owner and operations manager, and is an integral asset to our small team. The position will function as the on-site day-to-day senior retail associate in the following ways:
> Independently staff retail store; Offer exceptional customer service, greeting each customer that comes in the shop, assisting with product information and recommendations, and facilitating an easy shopping and checkout experience.
> Manage inventory; restock and merchandise inventory on floor, establishing checks to know when more product needs to be ordered or transferred from other locations, receive new product orders, communicate with vendors as needed to follow up on orders, report damages, etc.
> Learn in detail about products offered at our shop and our vendors.
> Delegate tasks to and manage retail assistants.
> Manage holiday/seasonal rotation of product displays.
> Maintain shop to be clean and orderly with help of retail associates.
> Assist with merchandising and window displays for holidays/seasonal promotions.
> Inventory and order office supplies as needed.
> Assist with staffing special events from time to time.
